Thinkforex obviously has some monthly sales targets that they wish their IB's to reach and the reality is that we would not be able to reach them so we are fairly certain this is the thinkforex why we were terminated. We completely understand their stance and respect their decision and do not have any ill will towards them and wish them all the best with their future plans. What that means to the traders that we have referred to Thinkforex since is that effective October 31st we will not be receiving anymore trading rebates. If you wish to continue trading with Thinkforex you may want to contact them and ask for a name of a different IB where you can continue to receive a benefit of some sort for your trading. Alternatively, we have a great working relationship with Pepperstone and are more than happy to recommend them as a great option for your retail trading needs. If it is like this, I agree it is not very convenient for customers: Not only the IB problem, but also sometimes there are positions you don't want to close, potential tax impact of closing positions and withdrawing everything, bank fees, new paperwork, be off market for one or two weeks, etc. It would be best to have a switch transparent for customers if that's donnaforex of course but maybe not. It still appears that you cant provide hard evidence and would rather use sites such as forex peace army to base your decisions on despite the site being owned by a convicted Russian scammer. So it looks like you really cant be helped. Given the situation I strongly encourage you to followup your complaint with FOS and even complain to ASIC. In fact I encourage everyone with a problem to do the same even if you have no real evidence. You see what will ultimately happen here is FOS and ASIC will asses the complaints and accept those with tangible evidence and the rest will be rejected. As a result of ASIC and FOS receiving a large number of complaints many of which are unsubstantiated they will ultimately be forced to employ more staff, which is unlikely given federal government budget cuts or tighten policy around client take-on rules for brokers, the later is of course the most likely. Rarely will a regulator take action against a broker uless its a cut and dry case which would be highly unlikely given the strength of most brokers terms and conditions and this would still not solve the bigger more systemic issue which stems back to consumer knowledge or lack thereof. The other option regulators have is to increase capital adequacy, however this is also unlikely as this will have the effect of capturing more than forex brokers so it wouldn't achieve the desired outcome. So where to from here. You say I am lobbyist but I dont have to do much lobbying at all, the reality is that the sheer number of thinkforex claims that FOS and ASIC receive will and have already done so to an extent drive the change. With my input or not you are likely to see change to client take on rules in the retail OTC derivatives space on a global scale very soon, this wont be a change to local regulatory rules as is the case now but will likely be a change at the treasury level in parliament which will donnaforex to changes to the law corporations act's across all MIFID member counties Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. What this change will actually be is open to debate however as per my comments it could and will likely be a restriction based on donnaforex net worth along with a few other factors.
